Theatre or agent must be invited by the foundation to submit a play for consideration by an "emerging writer" as determined by the foundation. Playwrights must be citizens or permanent residents of the united states to be considered. The work is expected to be an unproduced full-length play of social relevance. Musicals, translations, adaptations and works for children's theatre are not eligible. Plays that have received stage readings or workshop performances are eligible. Plays that have previously submitted to the foundation for consideration are not eligible.
